After our long flight and drive to our hotel in the rainforest we were itching to get outside and see some animals! Thankfully, other wedding guests had scheduled a rafting trip and we were able to join the fun.
Our rafting guides picked everyone up at the hotel and drove us out into the woods. It was over an hour to the launch site so naturally we stopped at a party store on the way and everyone loaded up on Costa Rican beer to get our party on. (I HATE beer!) But we did find some Smirnoff Ice in cute little cans(my favorite drink)! So I was a happy camper for our journey.
Our journey into the woods was pretty long, and eventually we got to our launch site and gulped at the rushing water and rapids. I realized that, although I'm a great swimmer, this would probably actually be scary. (Any WHY did I just do all that day drinking before I was going whitewater rafting?) I was also pretty worried about my boyfriend who signed us up for this trip despite not knowing how to swim!
We did have a great guide that kept us safe and in our raft. We also got absolutely soaked! (Next time I'm packing some water shoes because my flip flops absolutely did not cut it!)
